Projects
Things I’ve built for clinical practice, medical education, and procedural training. Each project has an overview and links to the work behind it.
-
Argus
A wearable barcode system that puts medication checks in the clinician's field of view. Built from off-the-shelf hardware and 3D-printed parts, Argus explores whether drug verification can fit more naturally into the work of giving an anaesthetic.
-
Minerva
A tool for generating primary FRCA practice questions using large language models and anaesthetic reference material. Minerva explores whether AI can help produce useful revision questions, with a small blinded study comparing its output against Royal College reference questions.
-
The People's Phantom
An open-source ultrasound training phantom costing around £5 to make. A reusable 3D-printed housing, agar gel, and simple balloon targets provide an inexpensive way to practise ultrasound-guided procedures, with scope to adapt the design for more complex anatomy.
-
Bellows
An interactive mechanical ventilation simulator for anaesthesia and intensive care education, running in the terminal or browser. Bellows lets you change ventilator settings and lung mechanics, then watch how pressure, flow, and volume waveforms respond in real time.
-
Praxis
A practical procedure handbook for UK clinicians. Praxis brings together preparation, technique, and aftercare with explanations of the decisions behind each procedure, keeping the practical steps and underlying reasoning close together.
-
Anki Add-ons
A collection of tools for making Anki easier to work with, from inserting symbols and reusing images to exploring study statistics. The add-ons tackle the everyday friction of creating, organising, and maintaining a flashcard collection.
